Kevin serves as Senior Vice President of Wealth Management and oversees the Trust and Investment Departments. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Management and Economics from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, and completed his Master's degree in Economics at Western Illinois University. Prior to joining Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust, Kevin worked for regional banks in the Twin Cities area where he served as Vice President and Personal Trust Manager. With 20 years of experience in financial planning, investments and trust administration, Kevin has the knowledge and experience to help clients achieve their financial goals.

Deborah Gertsen

Deborah J. L. Gertsen serves as Senior Vice President of Investments at Cedar Rapids Investment Consulting and is a LPL Financial Corporation (LPL) Consultant. A graduate of Coe College, Deb earned her B.A. in Business Administration and Accounting. She is also a graduate of the ABA National Trust School and has passed her CPA examination. Before joining Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust, Deb was an investment professional at a local brokerage firm and has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Deb utilizes a total wealth management approach that considers investments, taxes, insurance, wealth transfer, etc., and is dedicated to helping each client develop and implement a plan to meet his/her financial goals.

As investment officer at Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust, Grant is responsible for managing client investment portfolios, as well as security research and analysis. As a member of both the Investment Group and Investment Committee, Grant works to provide ongoing due diligence of investments, as well as management of our preferred equities and mutual funds.

Grant graduated with honors from the University of Iowa with a degree in international studies. Prior to joining Cedar Rapids Bank and Trust in 2014, he was an investment consultant at a local investment firm. Grant is active in the community and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Jane Boyd Board of Directors and as a board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Rand Westlund, CFA
Chief Investment Officer
Rand Westlund, CFA, serves as the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust. In his CIO capacity, he is responsible for overall asset allocation and equity investment research. Under his direction, the Trust Department manages institutional and personal portfolios using individual securities and mutual funds covering both the fixed income and equity markets. He is responsible for the investment portfolios of Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust and Quad City Bank & Trust. Formerly, he served for five years as the CIO at USBANCORP Trust and Financial Services Company (UBAN), a $1.6 billion asset-under-administration trust entity in Johnstown, PA. Prior to joining UBAN, he was Vice President at Mark Bailey and Company, a private investment manager in Grand Rapids, MI. Rand graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bethel College in St. Paul, MN, with a degree in mathematics and minors in education and physics. He received his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1991.

As Senior Vice President and Trust Officer for Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust, Rick is responsible for trust and estate administration, with a specialty in helping diverse and complex family relationships establish the best approach to estate planning. Rick combines his trust and legal expertise, along with his commitment to delivering personal service, to provide his clients with comprehensive financial planning to meet their unique goals.

Prior to joining Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust, Rick most recently led the Trust Division and Wealth Management at Guaranty Bank & Trust (now CRBT). Prior to that, he served in various executive leadership roles at TransAmerica. Rick graduated summa cum laude from Mount Mercy College (now Mount Mercy University) with a bachelor’s degree in science, and a Juris doctorate degree with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law.

Rick is actively involved in the community. He currently serves as a Board Member for Wheelchair Ramp Accessibility Program (WRAP) and Endowment Board Member and Directors Staff for El Kahir Shrine. Rick also serves as a member of Cedar Rapids Estate Planning Council (past board member), United Way Resource Management Committee, Kirkwood Alumni Leadership Council, Society of Financial Service Professionals – Eastern Iowa Chapter (past president).
