    • Feed Iowa First (sign up by 7/13)

    • Date: July 20, 2023
    • Time: 9:00 am - 11:00 am
    • Activity: Join Feed Iowa First for a morning of fighting food insecurity! Feed manages 23 fields in and around Cedar Rapids and grows 35,000 pounds of fresh produce for local pantries and families in need. Students will spend the morning in the field helping to tend and harvest produce for local distribution while learning about food insecurity in Linn County. Participants should wear closed-toe shoes, bring a water bottle, and work gloves (if you have a pair).  Clothing and shoes will get dirty.

    Families Helping Families (sign up by 8/1)

    • Date: August 8th, 2023
    • Time: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm 
    • Activity: Each year, Families Helping Families provides school supplies to children in Iowa living in foster care or who have been adopted from foster care. We are needing help stuffing backpacks for high school students that will be picking up their supplies. Stuffing backpacks is a simple and fun way to ensure that youth get the supplies they need.
