Raving Fan Nominees:
Winners from October 2025 to September 2026
The Raving Fan Award was designed to recognize a bank employee that goes above and beyond expectations in providing exceptional service to our clients (both internal and external). When considering a Raving Fan Award winner, please keep in mind our Client Service Commandments listed on the Cube.
Nominator: Rachel Jaynes | October 2025
I’d like to nominate Kathy for the raving fan award. When we were at the retreat, we were discussing the Q2 update from March and how one of her clients was really having a hard time and seems to get locked out often. She mentioned that the client is getting a new laptop (upgrade from a desktop), so it’ll probably take some hard work to get her set up on that. I asked if the client could come in with the laptop, but she said the client is in a different state. She then said she was actually going to be traveling there the following weekend for an unrelated personal trip and voiced that she should call the client and see about stopping by to help her out while she’s there. This shows the level of dedication Kathy has for her clients and is truly raving fan service.
Nominator: Nick Kleitsch | November 2025
Hello, I wanted to submit a Raving Fans nomination for Madison Ebel. She was out of the office when she took my call and in addition to being very helpful, she stayed on the phone with me to be sure everything was taken care of after hours. She also did so was a great attitude which made the conversation and completing the task more enjoyable! She delivered Raving Fans service. Thanks!
Nominator: Lori Tomasek | December 2025
I would like to nominate Elena Rocha for Raving Fan Service. One of our elderly clients had fraud on her debit card on December 23rd. She did receive a call from our fraud department, but she thought it was a scam. She has a sizeable checking balance, and was very stressed out that someone was able to access money fraudulently from her account. After receiving a message from the client, Elena called and spoke with the client until 5:30 on the 23rd, talking her through the transactions that occurred, our fraud notification process, filing the dispute, closing out her debit card, and reassuring the client that she was taking care of it for her. Elena offered the instant issue card to her and worked to get that ordered and printed on Christmas Eve, in case the client needed it over the holiday. She also told the client that she would follow up, to make sure everything was completed, and her account looked okay, with no more unauthorized activity the next day. I called the client to follow up on what happened on the 24th. She said, “Elena was wonderful last night. I was very stressed out, but she took care of everything. I felt comfortable after talking with her. She helped me so much!” Elena should be the poster child for Raving Fan Service, showing that the client is our 1st priority. She exceeded the client’s expectations dealing with the fraud issue and staying after business hours to help her.
Nominator: Lori Tomasek | January 2026
I want to commend Andrew Messerschmidt for his Raving Fan service. I called Andrew into a client meeting at the spur of the moment late, late last Friday afternoon. The clients expressed various needs, and many were WM related. Andrew dropped what he was doing, and came to my office to chat with the clients. He brought up several things for them to consider, since they both had previous 401k’s at past employers, just had a baby three months ago, and had received a large partner distribution from his firm on December 31st. The client is a CPA and tax attorney, quite knowledgeable. He was very impressed with Andrew, and his advisor input regarding investing, custodial accounts, and possible life insurance needs. The client emailed last night, to thank us for our time last Friday afternoon. He is pulling the necessary documents together, so that they can begin working with WM going forward. Little did I know that Andrew’s family was waiting for him in our parking lot. He never let on that he needed to be somewhere else. He was patient and intuitive to what the client's needs are now, and in the future. He demonstrates that clients are our 1st priority, and communicating effectively wins over our clients.
Nominator: Amanda Felton | February 2026
I would love to nominate Meg Paulson for a Raving Fans Award. I was cleaning up after the Promotion Event and Meg didn't hesitate to jump right in. Her willingness and kindness say so much about who she is as a co-worker, but more importantly as a person. She helped until we were done, and I was able to get home a little earlier than anticipated thanks to Meg. We are blessed to have her on the CRBT team!
Nominator: Sean Herder | March 2026
I'd like to nominate Nick Schmucker for the ravings fan award. Nick has been an outstanding team member here in credit administration and has always had a strong team player mentality. I have been bogged down with several large credits over the last few weeks and I had a few new deals pop up that I wouldn’t be able to get to quickly. Without hesitation, Nick stepped up and volunteered to take on two of the requests as he was able to get them done quickly to meet the clients expectations and deadlines to close. Nicks adherence to our customer service commandments that the client is our 1st priority and the importance of meeting and exceeding their expectations is what makes him a valuable team member here in credit administration. Thanks Nick!
Nominator: Victoria Hake | April 2026
I'd like to nominate Monroe Forster for ravings fan. We had a client that opened his account through mantl and called in to confirm the requirements on our promo, but he did not know what his security word was and did not have a recent transaction, so we were not able to help him over the phone. The client live in Iowa City so he couldn't easily stop into one of our branches. We sent him the security word letter through the mail so he could update his security word. He called back in for the second time, and we still could not help him because we did not receive the letter back and he didn't not have any transactions. Monroe ended up emailing it over to him and explained to him again that it needed to be notarized, and once we receive it back, we could help him over the phone. The client had no idea where to go in Iowa City to get something notarized. Monroe went out of her way and pulled up Iowa City public library to see if they offered that service, and they did. The client was able to get the document notarized and sent back to us. Now we are able to assist our new client over the phone. Way to go Monroe for going out of your way to look up who provides that service so we can assist our client when he calls in!
Nominator: Dawn Barrett | May 2026
I would like to nominate Cathy Lopez for Raving Fans. Earlier this week, there was an event scheduled for the Downtown East location. Cathy noticed a need to help with the set up for the event and took it upon herself to do just that without being asked, so that the event could go off without a hitch. It’s little things like that (plus a million other things not in her job description), that Cathy does all the time over here at the DT East location and we are always so grateful for her taking the initiative to make our lives easier. Thanks Cathy!
Nominator: Liz Myres | June 2026
I would like to nominate Kaylee Smith for the Raving Fans. We’ve seen an increase in fraud activity recently and the Treasury Team has been especially vigilant. Kaylee demonstrated exceptional judgment in a situation that could have resulted in a significant loss. A “client” calling from the number on file requested $25,000 wire. There were several red flags Kaylee picked up on, including the urgency, the flat dollar amount, the fact that it represented most of the funds in the account, and the explanation that the money was needed for the client’s “granddaughters car purchase”. Although a callback was completed to the number on file, Kaylee still felt that something was not right. She could have just let the wire go and told an officer a call back was completed, and it could have been signed off on as we would have followed all of our procedures. However, she trusted her instincts, didn’t let the rushed scenario rattle her and advocated for delaying the transaction. The situation was later confirmed to be part of a SIM card scam. Thank you Kaylee for your attentiveness, caution, and for protecting our clients.
Nominator: Client sent by James Klein | July 2026
I have received numerous compliments about Andrea and her work recently. She represents CRBT so well! Just a quick note to say how much we appreciate Andrea Shanahan. We just sold our home and paid off our loan, so it seemed like a good time to share a quick thought. Andrea is always friendly and she is very knowledgeable about the mortgage process. She has been willing to work with us several times to get us into the right loan to meet our needs. As I'm sure you’re aware, that’s not always the case in modern banking. We are grateful to have worked with Andrea for many years. After Deb Roth retired, Andrea is the reason we brought our business back to CRBT over the years.
Nominator: Naomi Meiner | August 2026
I would like to nominate Olivia Brown for a Raving Fans award. On Saturdays there are often a lot of people requesting to open accounts and at times there can be a bit of a wait. I was helping someone who was wanting to open an account with us but she did not have time to wait very long and was not able to come into the bank the following week to open the account, so she was really wanting the account opened that day. Olivia was off but I had already been speaking with her previously that morning and she was aware that this woman was wanting to open a account. Without me even asking, Olivia immediately asked me to please write down and make copies of the woman’s information that was needed on a form and she was able to get the account opened in a very short amount of time. The woman was very impressed with the quick turnaround and thankful to have been able to get the account opened as quickly as it was, and I really appreciated Olivia going out of her way to help this client as well.
Nominator: Elena Rocha | September 2026
I would like to nominate Grant DeMeulenaere for Raving Fans. Grant is always friendly and helpful and provides us with excellent service. He was up on the 3rd floor to check on the new printers and whenever anyone stops him for help, he is so willing to accommodate us with our questions. One of the days he was up here, I let him know that I recently got a new phone and asked him about putting in a ticket to get the Microsoft authenticator app to work on my new phone. Grant took the time from what he was doing and helped me get it installed and updated. I really appreciated that he took the time to do this.
Nominator: Shelly Strellner | September 2026
I would like to nominate Grant for Raving Fans. Grant took the lead on the printers for 3rd floor and checked, followed up to make sure everything was working and if we needed anything. We appreciate Grant so professional, friendly, and checking up.

Nominator: Brooke Dettbarn
Hello! I would like to nominate Liz Loney for the Unsung Hero award. Liz has been working with a client to switch over their credit card processing system. This company does not use email or anything online, so Liz worked with our contact at Deluxe to ensure that the product could be set up correctly for them. Liz went out to the store multiple times to deliver paperwork and help with the set up/any complication with the machine. Liz also has been in contact with Deluxe multiple times when things haven’t gone according to plan or if our client had any questions. Liz went above and beyond to ensure our client had a smooth transition and a great experience with both us and Deluxe.
Nominator: Meg Paulson
Hello! I would like to nominate Karon for taking time out of her busy day to double check quite a few rate changes. We have a new approval process for rate changes that can take a while, so submitting them as soon as possible cuts that wait time down before we can publish. When I put out a call for help, Karon dropped what she was working on to check these for me to make sure we were submitting accurate rates. She has done this before in the past as well and I always appreciate her “eagle eyes” in action!
Nominator: Liz Loney
A client came into the Marion branch and had an unpost item that we were unable to credit them that day since it would not be on the unpost list until Monday. This client did not have funds in their account and stated they had not eaten in three days due to not having funds. When the client walked out to the parking lot, Ryan noticed she did not have a vehicle and was walking home. Ryan went out to the parking lot and offered him a sandwich and a ride home. He proceeded to give her a sandwich he had for his own breakfast and drove her home. Thank you Ryan for going above and beyond!
Nominator: Stacie Wallingford
A shout out to Melissa- A car was hit outside of Scottish Rite and Melissa happened to witness the accident. Melissa called 911 and stayed with the mom until the emergency crews arrived, airbag was deployed and there was a child in the back crying. Thank you for being there for the mom and being present until the emergency crews arrived.
Nominator: Lori Tomasek
Melissa was helping a client raise their Zelle limit temporarily to accommodate a transfer to the client’s daughter living in California. The daughter needed a larger sum in order to secure her new apartment, with deposits and rent. After the limit was raised, the client processed the payment through Zelle online, but there was a hold put on it because of the larger amount. The daughter was frantic, as she didn’t want to not lose out on the apartment for lease. Melissa worked with the client to get the hold removed so that the funds were transferred to the daughter that day. In the evening I received a text from our client. It said, “Thank you so so much again! Melissa got on the line and had the hold lifted and the money was sent. This is one of the many examples of why we love working with you! And I appreciated the hold because it is an extra security check and that was a decent amount of money!” Thank you, Melissa, for following our procedures, and helping the client solve the transfer issue right away. You exceeded the client’s expectations.
Nominator: Ron Maxa
Bank clients tried leaving the bank, but their battery was dead. They went to buy a replacement but needed assistance getting the old battery out. After realizing they were stuck, Brian asked about the situation and offered to help get the right tools needed to swap out the dead battery. Brian, in the rain, took it upon himself to get the cover bar removed with his handy socket wrench set, out with the old, in with the new, and secure the cover back on. The clients were able to go about their day in the rain thanks to Brian and his relentless ability to help others. Thank you, Brian!
Nominator: Shelly Strellner
I would like to nominate the Marketing team and Brian for doing such a great job getting everything ready for the client fiesta at CS. The weather was perfect and several great comments from clients that had been several times and some ones for the first time.
